Exotic Australian Drink - Thredbo, Australia
Posted by on
The next morning… “Apple Schnapps” was an evil word. Jason’s comment
upon waking, “I have never seen anyone drink that much apple schnapps!”
My response, “I was drinking Apple Schnapps?!” I thought the whole
night I was drinking some special “Australian” drink. I couldn’t make
out what it was called because of their accents. It just sounded
exotic and tasted pretty good and it came in a cute little glass… And
they were pouring a lot of it!!
The rest was a blur : )
“Do we really have to ski today?” My head was pounding and Jason could only laugh… The kids, ” What’s wrong Mom?” Daddy, “Mom has a headache….(snicker, snicker).” I worked every excuse, “The snow is not good today… It’s raining… The day is almost half over…” If it wasn’t for the fact we had prepaid for our lift tickets–there would’ve been no way to get me on that mountain! But $500 in lift tickets alone, I reluctantly rallied and we set off like a heard of turtles.
We couldn’t believe our eyes once we finally got to the mountain, we
were greeted by of all things… another rainbow!! I Love you too Mother
Nature!! It was becoming unbelievable how it was as though their was
someone somewhere winking at us with every rainbow. We ended up skiing
2 days, got the local boutique to carry “Snow Sugar” and forged a great
“Australian” partnership. Even though it wasn’t the best conditions,
it all turned out to be a very enjoyable and successful trip. Another
great upside was that we were able to test the “water-proofness” of our
jackets firsthand; as both Ariana and I stayed completely warm and dry
during a full day of skiing in the pouring rain and wet snow!!! And
skiing under a rainbow was pretty amazing too!!
Watch out Australia here comes Snow Sugar… : )
