How To Celebrate Fitness-the wrong way - Australia, Opera House
Posted by on
The next day we decided to all jog together to the Opera house. Making certain to get directions first. It was a beautiful day, blue sunny skies, not too hot or cold. To attempt to compete with Jason’s legendary cross country run I decide to take on the opera house stairs. With both of us now feeling very fit and fabulous we decide to stop for a lovely drink alongside the water under the towering iconic Opera house. We ordered lunch and a bottle of wine–to celebrate our fitness.
We end up spending the entire day by the waterfront. Watching the boats glide in and out of the harbor, Seagulls attacking abandoned plates of food, talking, laughing, telling stories, watching our fellow fitness friends jog along, (lol) , groups of school children walking hand in hand on field trips, couples holding hands, people taking pictures. We sat sipping our wine, listening to the distant sound of the humming didjereedo, while the bright sunny day transformed into a golden crisp evening over Sydney harbor.
We thought what better way to end such a beautiful day, then with an amazing seafood dinner overlooking the harbor. Very hungry, we walk into an extremely elegant seafood restaurant buzzing with excitement. As we are seated at a plush suede camel colored raised banquette–we suddenly become awkwardly aware of our “fitness attire”. Again, I paint the oil in water scenario… Let’s just say, I will never roll my eyes at the “casual” dress in LA again… : ) Cheers! xoxo
